Some of the most beautiful scenery and freshest sounds of the Mountain can be found in the West Virginia Mountains, not far from home. Just across the Ohio boarder into Parkersburg, WV we will enjoy the enchantment of HISTORIC BLENNERHASSETT ISLAND via a Stern Wheeler Ride and Horse Drawn Wagon. Our second day begins with a visit to the National Radio Astronomy Observation in Green Bank followed by our train adventure aboard CASS RAILROAD. We journey into areas that are noted for their natural beauty and seclusion while showcasing the different modes of rail transportation that were once so much a part of the fabric of American Life. Mid afternoon touring continues in Elkins area followed by dinner at the Rail Yard Restaurant. Our evening is filled with good ole Mountain Music and Entertainment at the American Mountain Theater , a multi –million dollar facility in Elkins, West Virginia. High energy, Branson style entertainers sing gospel, bluegrass and patriotic music and popular selections through the years. On day three The New Tygart Flyer will take us on a 2 hour ride to the High Falls of Cheat Mountain for a photo stop and view of the falls area. (Trains may vary depending on schedule)
