Our first day takes us to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley where we will explore the AMERICAN CELEBRATION ON PARADE, a fantasyland of floats and props, which have been used in Presidential inaugurals and the Rose Bowl and Thanksgiving Day parades. SHENANDOAH CAVERNS are senior friendly with elevators and well lit walkways, bursting in color over the incredible underground rock formation. Since this is the 150th year of the Civil War, our next stop will be New Market Battlefield Visitors Center. The film presentation and tour will highlight our visit. Continuing on our overnight stay will be in Charlottesville, VA. Day two our tour continues to MONTICELLO, a 5,000-acre plantation and home of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third president of the United States. Lunch is included at the Historic Michie Tavern where we will recreate a dining experience rich in southern culture. We continue on to visit, Ash Lawn, Estate of President James Monroe. The valley is blooming flowers, buds and signs of spring this time of year. It should be a pretty drive! Day three our tour continues to our Nation’s Capital to visit Mount Vernon, George Washington’s Estate and one of the most popular historic sites in America. A colonial lunch is included at Mt. Vernon. Following our visit we continue into D.C. to view the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Wall, Washington Monument and more to give you an overview of this historic city.
